Welcome to Columbus North High School.  My name is David Clark, and I am blessed to be the principal of Columbus North, a place where students learn to be a little better, stand a little taller and push themselves a little further.

At Columbus North we adhere to the Bull Dog Way, a philosophy that means we strive to do the right things, in the right way, for the right reasons.  This philosophy values deeper learning for all students and our staff utilizes Universal Design for Learning as a framework for our instructional methodology.  Our mission focuses on helping students to become expert learners.  They do so by becoming resourceful and knowledgeable, strategic and goal directed, and purposeful and motivated in all their pursuits.

Academically, we stack up against the best of the best schools in Indiana.  For many years we have been recognized by The College Board as a school with one of the highest percentages of our graduates who take AND who passed an AP exam.   Our SAT scores are typically 50 points or higher than State and National averages. We recently were recognized by the Indiana Department of Education with an Educational Excellence Award in College Readiness.

As a proud member of the IHSAA, Columbus North has won 39 team state championships and at least 148 individual state championships and we have had 23 IHSAA Mental Attitude Award winners. 

But we’re so much more.  Our theater, our band and choir, our visual arts departments perform at the highest levels.  Our Vocational programs prepare our students with authentic learning experiences that serve as a foundation for the rest of their lives.  We have many opportunities for our students to give back to our community from our annual “Can Drive” to our Senior Projects.  And with a student population that boasts over 39 different languages, our students provide each other with a glimpse of the future and just how bright it can be.
